INDIE ICONS INVADE THE RATDOM IN FREE ‘BLOOD & BRINE’ EXPANSION – OUT TODAY FOR TAILS OF IRON 2
LONDON – Aug. 21, 2026 – Odd Bug Studio and United Label, a CI Games publishing label dedicated to supporting independent games, today launched Blood and Brine, the free expansion for Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. Available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, this new post-game expansion introduces a brand new area featuring eleven new quests, ten new bosses, a unique fishing mechanic, nine new armour sets, and new original music.

Acclaimed voice actor, Doug Cockle, also returns as the series narrator.
Indie legends enter the Ratdom
The expansion also adds new crossover armour sets inspired by player favourites, including The Penitent One from Blasphemous, The Lamb from Cult of the Lamb, Dave from DAVE THE DIVER, The Crow from Death’s Door, Will from Moonlighter and Boom Boom from Beyond GalaxyLand. Each has been reimagined in Odd Bug Studio’s distinctive hand-drawn style.
A new tide of bloodshed
The new location is a scenic coastal area, Hardshell Brook, where players can explore and encounter exciting new adventures and experiences. With peace restored to the Ratdom, a fresh threat emerges from the sea. After their vessel is destroyed, sailors Jaimie and Sam seek Arlo’s help with an unusual plan: build an aquarium, attract visitors, and raise enough money to repair their ship.
Arlo must cast his line into dangerous waters and gather a collection of unusual aquatic creatures. But as the aquarium grows, suspicions begin to surface around the sailors’ account of what really happened at sea.
“We really wanted to say a big thank you to our community by offering this story expansion completely free of charge,” said Oddbug Studio CEO Jack Bennett. “Additionally, we are thrilled to team up with so many talented developers with our new ‘Indie Heroes’ armour sets – who’d have thought the Penitent One, among other legends, would ever find their way to the Ratdom?! . All sails ahead! Adventure awaits!”
To celebrate the launch of Blood and Brine, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter will be available for a limited time at 60% off the MSRP across PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games stores. The game is ESRB rated “T” for Teen and PEGI 16.
Note: Players must complete the main Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter campaign before beginning this new expansion.
